Chattanooga Engineering Group, one of the largest civil engineering firms in southeast Tennessee, is hiring a civil engineer based in the Charlotte, North Carolina Area.
We are looking for a highly motivated, conscientious and innovative candidate who’s able to provide design support, including drawings, calculations and modeling, for CEG’s civil works in North Carolina, specifically projects involving water, wastewater, stormwater and roads.
Our team is devoted to strong communication and interpersonal skills; we want a civil engineer able to professionally, creatively and efficiently:
- Analyze surveys, long-range plans, maps and other data in order to design new projects.
- Provide risk-analysis while consulting budgetary, regulatory and environmental factors and concerns.
- Prepare material, equipment and labor cost-estimates in financially responsible ways.
- Forecast and manage design and construction timelines.
- Effectively and proactively observe and complete the permitting process with appropriate agencies, ensuring compliance with projects.
- Work remotely while representing CEG in the Charlotte, North Carolina Area
Experience with land development is required.
Requirements:
- Professional Engineering (PE) license in the State of Tennessee or North Carolina (or the ability to obtain it within 90 days.)
- 5+ years of Land Development experience.
- Excellent design and visualization software knowledge such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D or similar programs.
- Proficiency in site layout, grading, utility design, erosion control, regulatory approvals, etc.
- BS/MA in Civil Engineering.
